Legal drafting has never really been a straight line.
You write a clause, then stop to check whether it still holds up under a recent regulation. There's a sentence you're not sure about, so you start a chat to find out. A colleague already left three comments on last week's version, so you go digging through an inbox to find them. And once the draft is far enough along, you move it into Word, because that's where the real formatting happens. By the time you're back in the document, you've lost the sentence you were halfway through.
None of these steps are optional; they're the actual work of drafting.
Drafting solves that. At the center of it is a real editor, built directly into the app: a genuine, page-based document editor you can draft in from the first word to the last, built around your own templates and formatting.

Draft, edit and review documents without leaving your Libra workspace
Open a new draft in Libra and you land in a genuine, page-based editor: a visible ruler, adjustable margins, and a full formatting toolbar with font and size controls, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, subscript and superscript, bullet and numbered lists, indentation, text and highlight color, paragraph styles, line spacing, and table insertion.
There's a theme selector too, so a draft can carry your own visual identity from the first keystroke. Every draft also keeps a version history, so you can open or restore an earlier point without saving separate copies of the same file.
Libra stops being a place you generate a first pass before moving to Word. Instead, Libra is now the place you can work on a draft end to end
Your own templates and styling, built in
Legal work rarely start a draft from a blank page. Drafting now lets you build templates directly from documents you already have: upload your own existing Word template as a reference document, and Libra turns it into a drafting template you can reuse and share with your team.
When you do, Libra also extracts a theme from that document automatically: fonts, colors, page setup, headers and footers, and text styles. You can fine-tune it afterward, and reuse it across other templates and drafts, so every document you create carries your own actual formatting rather than a generic approximation of it. Update the theme once, and every template it's attached to updates with it.
Because the formatting is real, not a simplified stand-in for it, what you draft here already looks like the document you'd actually send, not a rough version you'll still need to clean up in Word afterward.
Everything you need, one panel away
Right next to the page sits a single panel: Libra Chat, Comments & Suggestions, and Sources, each one tab away, so you never have to leave your draft to use them.
Libra Chat
With Drafting, Libra Chat sits beside your document, already aware of who you are and what you're working on, ready for a task the moment you open it. Ask it about the whole document, or select a passage first to scope its answer to just that part: check a definition, propose a redline for a clause you're unsure about, or draft a fallback position, all while your document stays in view. Every change Libra makes is visible: click "Show changes" to see exactly what it did, and revert any part of it. You can also bring other material into the conversation directly with "@", like a template or an earlier version of the clause, so you're not re-explaining what you're working on every time you ask something.
Comments & Suggestions
Switch to Suggest mode and every edit, yours or Libra's, is marked for review instead of applied outright, the same way the same way tracking changes works in Word. Instead of a colleague's or counterparty's notes arriving as a separate redlined attachment, they sit in this tab, tied to the part of the document they're about. You work through them one at a time, next to the clause in question.
Sources
Keeps the research trail attached to the draft instead of letting it disappear into a browser tab you closed an hour ago. As you write, you can check what a clause is actually grounded in and verify it on the spot.
What this solves
This feature removes friction from drafting: no more moving between a dozen tools to get one document done. Checking a rule, asking a question, finding a colleague's comment, all of it now happens in the same place as your draft, without a tab switch, a lost sentence, a trip to Word halfway through, or rebuilding formatting from scratch every time.
